Consistency of the visit direction

The third area to be considered with regards to the adaptation of the exhibition route for the public concerned the direction of movement through the exhibition areas. The previous route had to be removed. The visitor's obligation to retrace their steps in order to leave the museum was a source of inconvenience and interfered with movement throughout the exhibition areas, because of the narrowness of the building.

The redesigned exhibition route now follows a single direction from the entrance area of the museum to the studio constructed by Zadkine in the 1950s, passing through the garden which now constitutes an exhibition area in its own right. The distribution of exhibition areas around the garden has for its part become more coherent.
